Why Niedlov's Bakery & Cafe is No. 7
Niedlov's is a wholesale and retail bakery and cafe on East Main Street in the Southside. The breads use organic whole grains and natural leavening, with no added sugar or preservatives, and the bakery buys from regional grain growers. Erik and Lauren Zilen have run it since 2015.
The cafe serves breakfast from 7 to 11 and lunch from 11 to 3 on weekdays, and brunch all day Saturday. It is closed Sunday. Bread and croissants go home by the bag.
The James Beard Foundation named Niedlov's a 2026 semifinalist for Outstanding Bakery.
