Why Alleia is No. 8
Alleia is chef Daniel Lindley's rustic Italian restaurant on Main Street in the Southside. It opened in 2009 in the old Harrington building, and wood salvaged from the building lines the dining room.
The kitchen makes seven kinds of pasta in house and bakes pizza in a brick oven that runs at 750 degrees. Lindley has been nominated for the James Beard award for Best Chef: Southeast five times.
Dinner only, Monday through Saturday; reservations through Resy. On the last Monday and Tuesday of each month the kitchen serves Cena de Famiglia, a seasonal four-course dinner.
