Little Coyote

Why Little Coyote is No. 1
Erik and Amanda Niel, of Easy Bistro and Main Street Meats, opened Little Coyote in St. Elmo in November 2023. Texas-style meats are smoked low and slow over hardwood and served with house-made tortillas, moles and salsas, and the bar pours agave cocktails from more than a hundred tequilas and mezcals.
The room is terracotta tile, turquoise and warm wood, with a covered patio at the foot of Lookout Mountain. In the first Michelin Guide to the American South, in 2025, it was the only Chattanooga restaurant to earn a Bib Gourmand.
There are no reservations: walk in and join the waitlist. Dinner starts at 4 on weekdays; on weekends the doors open at 11:30 for lunch.
