Attack of the Tatsu

Ramen and katsu up front, and a whisky bar around the back pouring Japanese whisky, sake and highballs until midnight.

Why Attack of the Tatsu is No. 13

Attack of the Tatsu is a ramen and katsu shop in the Tomorrow Building on Patten Parkway downtown. James Heeley, of Unknown Caller and Shady's Corner, and Daniel Starkey opened it in 2023.

The menu has tonkotsu, shoyu and miso ramen, katsu bowls and sandos in pork, chicken or tofu, and izakaya plates like yaki gyoza and pork belly sliders.

There are two bars: cocktails and Japanese beer up front, and a whisky bar around back for Japanese whisky, sake and highballs. Open daily from 11 a.m. to midnight, with a late-night menu.
