Dakota Concepts has built custom cabinets in Hixson since 1995. Jimmy Cross, in custom cabinetry since 1980, founded it and now owns it with Wayne Brown. Showroom, manufacturing and finishing all sit on one nine-acre site on Middle Valley Road.
A job starts with a visit to measure, then a 3D model of the cabinets, then a trip to the showroom to pick wood species, doors, finishes and countertops. The boxes are hardwood and cabinet-grade plywood, and the same in-house team designs, builds, finishes and installs them.
